In Toronto, you can get a resume for as little as $25 or pay thousands. Obviously, there is a reason why people pay thousands. A lot of work goes into preparing a high-quality document, and we'll detail this at a later time. Suffice it to say that some writers belong to professional organizations (we belong to several), and a small percentage of these go through an exhaustive certification process (we did).

In 2007, we introduced a "Starter" package for those who have reasonably good English skills (or have access to help with English), but need assistance in distinguishing themselves favourably from their competition. For a limited period, we are offering this service for only $75.00.

We already know this approach works because several clients have hired us to do exactly the same thing at an hourly rate. All other packages are comprehensive in nature. For these, our prices are roughly in the middle (in relation to what other resume writers are asking). We charge enough to allow us spend the time needed to create an excellent document, but the amount we charge is easily recouped when our client acquires employment or is awarded a promotion. FLAT RATE / HOURLY RATE

In general, there are two ways of purchasing services from a resume writer: flat rate and hourly rate. We're no exception. Most of our resume clients prefer the flat rate because they get more value per dollar spent. Some clients choose the hourly rate because they don't require much of our time, and this option gives them more control over the process. After all, if you're paying for somebody's time, you can pretty well choose how that time is spent. Whenever you buy a package (of any kind), there have to be restrictions in order to keep the fee from skyrocketing.

RESUME PACKAGES

Our clients have received comprehensive resume packages for as little as $249.95 by qualifying for our Standby Specials (TM).

Most businesses, including resume services, give clients incentive to maximize usage of their services. We at Résu-Card ® do the opposite. If you have the time and skill required to do some of the work yourself (for example, many of our clients have excellent word-processing skills), we encourage you to do that, and we save you money by doing only what you need us to do.

Various packages are available to those who visit our North York location. All our resumes are "competitive" — so-called because they are guaranteed to distinguish you favourably from your competition. Click here to read about the philosophy behind this concept.

All packages are now available in Microsoft ® Word and include a FREE digital file (disk or email), so that you can revise documents yourself and "Word-attach" them to emails when applying for jobs. If you don't find a package here that suits you, let us know, and we'll customize one for you!

Writers offer packages on the assumption they can predict roughly how long a job will take. In 99% of cases, we can. If there are special circumstances that prevent this, we will offer you an hourly rate instead.

CONDITIONS

Package prices apply only when (a) you learn about us through our own advertising, e.g., this site, and (b) we work directly with one individual. Package prices do not apply when you are referred to us by an external individual or organization.

Some of our clients prefer to have a second person present while documents are being completed. This is okay. But if more than one person is in our office while a document is being prepared, our hourly rate applies. There are no exceptions.

However, we do have a waiting room. You are welcome to have another person or persons accompany you and stay in our waiting room while your document is being completed. In this case, package prices rule.

"Starter" Resume: only $75.00

This is our lowest-priced package. It is based on the principle that most employers screen candidates in or out within 20 seconds. What we do is write the first segment of your resume. We ask questions to determine your best qualities and showcase them within the first half-page. This will generate interest and give the employer an incentive to read the rest of your document.

Since most employers form their impression of you on the basis of the initial segment, this approach gives you a good chance to make the "first cut" in the competitive process.

As mentioned above, we already know this approach works.

ESTABLISHING CREDIBILITY

We do not merely list or describe positive qualities, as is frequently done by resume writers. We support each claim with evidence. Anybody can list positive qualities. Since it is widely held that a significant percentage of candidates exaggerate their qualifications, a mere list is not worth anything. To establish credibility, you need to present evidence, and we guarantee that we will do that.

NOTE

Standby Specials are offered as an incentive to use our services when we are not busy. Our motive in implementing this program was to become more busy, and we did. Receiving a discounted hourly rate. Regular fee: $150.00 per hour. However, if you qualify for our specials, you may request and receive a lower rate, which fluctuates with demand (minimum $75.00).

Minimum fee for initial visit: $50.00. However, you are at no risk. We commence the process. If you don't L O V E the result, we keep the document, you keep your money. Our satisfaction rate over the last twelve years is 90%. In 2007, it was 99%. We have hundreds of references.

DISCLAIMER: Standby Specials are available to those who respond directly to our advertising and ask for them up front, i.e., when the subject of fees is first discussed—normally in our initial conversation.
